Tomatoes

All Organic Heirloom Tomatoes are in 3 1/2" recyclable or returnable pots

Beefsteaks

Brandywine

85 days Original Brandywine. Considered to be the best Brandywine strain superior in taste and smoothness. 1-2 lb pink beefsteaks with delectably complex, rich, sweet flavor that has made Brandywine justifiably famous.

Brandywise

75 Days Hardworking researchers at Cornell University developed tomato genetics with resistance to Late Blight and Septoria Leaf Blight plus tolerance to Early Blight. Then they bred that back into old time fave Brandywine, resulting in a fat tasty deep red tomato with resistance to some of the worst this modern climate can throw at a grower.

Celebrity

Old school (1984) All American selection has the production, disease resistance, size, and flavor qualities you need when you mean business in the tomato patch. Determinate plants mean more fruit ripens at once.

HEIRLOOM MARRIAGE BIG BRANDY

New cross between two venerable 19th century favorites. Brandywine brings the rich tangy flavor, Big Dwarf contributes compact plant size and sturdiness, and the mix gives you higher yields and earlier fruit with fewer blemishes. Large flattened pinkish purple fruits at about 75-80 days. They are calling it semi-determinate, but growing it in the ground rather than in a pot is recommended.

Mr. Stripey

Red and yellow stripes cover large 10-12 oz fruits. Mild flavor with low acid. Indeterminate. 80 days.

Pastes

Amish Paste

Got a lot of canning to do? These babies will fill up the pot in a hurry. Elongated 8-12 oz. meaty fruits vary from oxheart to plum shapes that are rich red with paler shoulders. Amish heirloom from Pennsylvania.

Gladiator

Jumbo sized paste tomatoes on a plant bred for strong root systems, which give it tolerance to calcium deficiency diseases like blossom end rot. Vigorous indeterminate plants, rich robust flavor. Can it go head to head with Super Sauce?? It might be an epic bout!

San Marzano

78 days. Italian heirloom. This is a newer selection of this famous Italian cooking tomato. Long, cylindrical fruit are filled with thick, dry flesh and few seeds.

Cherokee purple

80 days. An old Cherokee Indian heirloom, pre-1890 variety beautiful deep dusky purple-pink color, superb sweet flavor, and very large sized fruit. Try this one for real old-time tomato flavor. My favorite dark tomato!

Moskvich

60 days. Semi-determinate. Smallish, 4-6 ounce fruits, very uniform, globular and deep red. Produced early and abundantly, the crack-resistant fruits are of outstandingly good flavor, used fresh or for canning and cooking. Performs will in cool to cold conditions, like so many of the Russian types.

Stupice

60 days - Indeterminate. Best early tomato I grow in my garden! Little red tomato from Czechoslovakia. Small, round fruits are juicy and tangy with disease-resistant, potato-leaf foliage. Stupice is pronounced Stoo-PEECH-ka.

Medium

Carbon

We loved the Paul Robeson tomato too, but always felt weird about the name. Enter deep purple heirloom Carbon, combining the elements of good size, blocky round shape, and classic rich black tomato flavor. Productive mid-season, indeterminate (vining) plants. So we go from a black tomato named after a 1940s singer/athlete/activist/world peace promoter to one that sounds like a science fiction series you binged last winter. Whatever. Eat this tomato!

Heirloom Marriage Perfect Flame

Our old heirloom pal Jaune Flamme got hitched! Crossing it with Peron, a smallish slicer from Argentina, yields more fruit earlier in that tangy orange saladette package you know and love. Early at 70-75 days, indeterminate.

Striped German

We decided to let Hillbilly go (see catalogue intro) and like this heirloom to fill that gap admirably. Mid-season red and gold 12 oz. beefsteak fruits with smooth texture and fruity flavor. Standard foliage, indeterminate (vining) plants.

Cherry

Brad's Atomic Grape

Elongated cherries in clusters. The color (and flavor!) is a full-blown assault on the senses— lavender and purple stripes when immature, turning to technicolor olive-green, red, and brown/blue stripes when fully ripe. Really wild! Olive green interior is blushed with red when dead-ripe. Crack-resistant fruits are extraordinarily sweet! Wispy foliage looks delicate but belies these plants rugged constitution and high productivity.

Chocolate Cherry

75 days. Beautiful black cherries look like large, dusky purple-brown grapes they have that rich flavor that makes black tomatoes famous. Large vines yield very well. Very unique and delicious.

Gardener's Delight Cherry

Produces luscious, tart-sweet, bite-size cherry toms in clusters of six to twelve. Fruits start early and continue through the season on vigorous indeterminate plants. 65 days.

Riesentraube

76-85 days. The sweet red 1-oz fruit grow in large clusters, and the name means "Giant Bunch of Grapes" in German. It is probably the most popular small tomato with seed collectors, as many enjoy the rich, full tomato flavor that is missing in today's cherry types. Large plants produce massive yields.

Sun Gold

57 days. Very sweet, tropical fruity tasting cherry tomato that produces a ton of fruit. Bright orange-yellow cherry tomatoes taste not just sugary but also fruity and delicious. Personal favorite of customers.

Supersweet 100

65 Days. Plants produce long strands of 100 or more super-sweet cherry tomatoes, weighing about 1 oz. each and measuring 1" in diameter. Extra-high in Vitamin C. Plants bear fruits throughout the season. Requires staking or caging. Indeterminate plants.

Supersauce

When it's time to process tomatoes and you don't want to mess around, this recent hybrid may be just what you need! Giant Roma-type fruit on lanky indeterminate plants. Good flavor, good disease resistance, long term fruit set.

Tomatillo Verda Puebla

Verde Puebla

75 days Mexican husk tomato, prolific 2” sweet fruits ripe when fruits burst through husks. Blended with hot peppers to make traditionalMexican green sauce.

Ground Cherry

Aunt Molly

Ground cherries are native to eastern and central North America and look like compact tomatillos, husk and all. This Polish variety is sweet and prolific. Citrus flavored ½ to ¾" fruit can be used in preserves, pies, sauces, or fresh in salads.
